Artist Statement:

Most of the work I make focuses on characters, whether it be existing characters (from franchises or other places) or my own original characters. I like to conceptualize stories around my artworks. This helps me to design specific environments and develop personalities for the figures in my pieces. These stories aren’t always in the forefront of the work I make, but are an important part of my creative process.

The style I draw in for these works are influenced by Japanese anime. I began working with this style in elementary school and it has been an integral part of my studio practice ever since. During college, I experimented with styles such as realism and abstraction, but I always find myself coming back to my roots. In whatever media I am working with, I try to find ways to incorporate my style into everything that I make.
