What We Do with Katie Bulova and Caroline Mead
Please join the department for What We Do with Pitt students Katie Bulova and Caroline Mead on Thursday, November 4 at 12pm via Zoom.
Katie Bulova
Katie Bulova is a second career artist
whose work is narrative in nature and often investigative in technique.
She previously worked in deeply institutional public health settings
(in offices with no windows). She is strongly
pulled towards fiber arts with sculptural elements. Her pieces often
represent a patchwork of the places that her heart misses: the beach,
the mountains, the blue skies of New Mexico, the moon hanging over a
forest, and the arms of those she loves. If she
is not outside, you can look for her by the window
Caroline Mead
Caroline
Mead is a Pittsburgh-based artist focusing on screen printing and
sculpture. The main inspiration for her body of work is derived from growing pains, mental health, and identity.
