What We Do & How We Do It with Nathan Barker-English and Kylie Mericle

Thursday, April 8, 2021 | 12pm

Nathan Barker-English is a digital illustrator based in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He received his BA in Studio Art at University of Pittsburgh in 2020, and continues to explore character design and storytelling through digital illustration, animation, and 3D modeling. His character-based work includes a diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality, and themes of culture, class, and queerness exist throughout his body of work. A lifelong passion for video games inspires him to explore the intricacies of video game design, concept artwork, asset creation, and coding as a means of bringing fantastical characters, worlds, and stories to life.

Kylie Mericle was born outside of Washington, D.C. to an elementary school teacher and a physical therapist. She has lived in Pittsburgh for most of her life and has always been inspired by its wet temperate woods and the life within. Since she was a child, she has loved fantasy and the escape it provides. Her work is heavily influenced by both of these interests.

All are welcome to join Studio Arts for this event.
