Paolo Piscitelli - Brown Bag Presentation

Paolo Piscitelli will preview some of his small new fetish sculptures he started to realize in the last two years as part of a series, “Amulets Project” with the support of the Professional Artists Grants Program in partnership with The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments.

"I grew up close to the Alps in Italy and I like to compare my artistic practice and philosophy to the classic alpine style of climbing. I am a sculptor and my hands are my main tools of making but also of thinking: my hands are my brain. Each work I do is for me a journey, a mountain to climb with simple and light equipment, in which conception and the realization are deeply integrated: Who would be the fool that would want to fulfill the desire to go for a hike on a mountain and then send someone else instead of going himself?”
