Barbara Weissberger - "Mother"

February 6 - March 21, 2019

Barbara Weissberger’s surreal constructed images and collages are exhibited widely. Her work explores the body, beauty (and disgust), belief, doubt, gender and labor. Play is central to Weissbergers’s process; images grow out of improvisation and the pleasure of working with materials. The writer Sherrie Flick described the idiosyncratic mix of elements in her work as “stacked and wrapped– harmoniously, improbably, united in their disparity.” Weissberger’s show at Silver Eye will feature new work centered around the many meanings and interpretations of the word "mother."
