JoAnna Commandaros earned her BFA at Carnegie Mellon University and her MFA at Kent State University. She has exhibited and been awarded residencies in the United States, United Kingdom, Jamaica, and Greece. Her work is in private collections abroad as well as in the United States. Commandaros has created installations and public works in the Pittsburgh area over the past several years, and she currently is exploring the role of the artist in the field of ecology.
