Faculty

We are a unique community of artists, growing and learning together. Our faculty members are award-winning, nationally and internationally recognized artists who bring their expertise and experience into the classroom to teach and mentor the next generation of artists, educators, and well-rounded citizens of the world. Students work closely with faculty and each other to continually stretch, experiment, and explore their potential. We value courage, creativity, and communication, and we provide a challenging environment where these values are nurtured and celebrated.

"Professors learn how you work, how you think, and they know what makes you tick."

“Although the department is still expanding at an amazing rate, our department is small enough that the professors know each student by name and . . . our professors know that our personal lives play a huge role in our work. So importance is placed on fostering not only our artistic skills but also developing as people entering a world of artistic creation. In the Studio Arts Department, it is possible to have the same teacher for three or four classes, so professors learn how you work, how you think, and they know what makes you tick. By knowing this, they can push you based on your strengths and weaknesses.”
