SA 1345 Sculpture Studio: Installation

SA 1345 is an advanced sculpture course examing Site Specific and Installation works as strategies in contemporary art.  Continually challenged by newly revised and emerging roles in the art world and society at large, the purpose of this studio course is to provide a forum for the discussion and exploration of issues playing a role in the contemporary critical debate.  With a consideration of site specificity and approaches in installation as frameworks, students will develop three projects: a site-specific work, a collaborative work that will be exhibited publicly, and a self-directed final project.  In addition to studio projects, students are expected to participate in group discussions and critiques and to discuss the development and content of their work.  Students are responsible for specific material selections, processes and technical requirements needed for their individual concepts.
