Visiting Artist - Roger Zahab



Roger Zahab – composer, violinist, Pitt orchestra conductor and music department faculty – will discuss and perform excerpts from the highly influential work of John Cage on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 6:00 pm in the Drawing Studio.

Zahab instigates complex relations through his activities as composer, violinist, teacher, and writer. 

His work has been performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia.  Recent projects include a commission by the Akron Symphony Orchestra and a chamber music version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".

As a violinist, Zahab has given more than a hundred first performances and championed music by a wide range of composers.  His conducting repertoire encompasses the history of ensemble music up to the present.
